Michael’s film: Part 1 here. » Part 2 here.
Michael Grandlouis is an Algonquin Indian, a member of the Wolf Lake First Nation in western Quebec. He speaks fluent French and English, and lives in a condominium near Parliament Hill - which means he had a front row seat during the time the Freedom Convoy was in town.
He has since created an extended, poignant love letter to the truckers in the form of an 80-minute film that may be viewed on Facebook as well on YouTube, where it appears in two parts.
The film includes video footage shot by Michael, and boatloads of infectious enthusiasm. He tells us about his numerous encounters with the truckers who poured into Ottawa from across the country. On occasion, he struggles with obvious emotion while relating an experience he’ll “never forget.”
This film is fabulous. Truly. I promise, it will make you smile.
(It includes a handful of f-words, so it may not be appropriate for young children.)
