On the morning of the last day of the Ottawa protest Csaba Vizi witnessed a chaotic scene:
Some people they was running away from the police with blood on their forehead. I saw some other peoples running toward the police. I was sitting in my truck, revving my engine, blowing my horn like it was some kind of weapon. My only weapon.
Suddenly the music stopped. I saw people running, disassembling the stage. Was a horrific scene, man, I can tell you that. I saw people trying to give police a hug. Instead, they was beaten.
In the interview in which he makes the above statements (beginning at 18:23 minutes here), Csaba says he decided to get out of his truck as the police line approached. He says he knelt down in the snow and put his hands behind his head, “Accepting the fact that I’m gonna be arrested and beaten up.”
In another interview, he provides a more detailed account of what happened next:
When the police cordon start pushing me, that officer he was yelling to me to go back, to go back. And I tell them ‘I’m a driver.’ Somebody, another officer, yelled ‘Arrest him.’
So they grabbed me by my hands and shoulders…I was on my belly and I remember I tried to raise my arms as much as I can for them to be easy to cuff me.
So I didn’t put [up] any fight. I didn’t say nothing. I remember my face was in the snow. And the snow was so cold. You couldn’t feel cold, you feel like burning [sensation on] your face.
I felt a lot of movement, which later on watching that video of my arrest, was actually kicking me from each direction…three officers they was on top of me. And I felt like every time I tried to breathe, less and less air I was able to get into my lungs. It was because of the pressure I had by police officers being on top of me.
If you take a moment to watch the brief video clip at the top of this page from the 21-second mark, you will see the officer on the right forcefully knee Csaba in the side FOUR times as the officer on the left simultaneously assaults him.
The person who posted this video on Rumble remarks:
Csaba Vizi was brutality beaten by Ottawa City police on Saturday, after surrendering. The beatings looks [sic] like a remake of the Rodney King video from 1992. Since it was Trudeau’s goons doing the beating though, this will get little to no media attention…Something is seriously in wrong in Canada…
After he was handcuffed and set onto his feet again, Csaba was escorted to a paddy wagon by one of the police officers he believes assaulted him.
The conversation between those two men is the topic of tomorrow’s blog post.
CAVEAT: The Rumble page hosting the video clip says it was shot “by a bystander named Brian Kanabrowski.” That’s doubtful. It appears, rather, that this footage was captured by one of the ‘Live From the Shed’ cameras. The date cited is certainly wrong. These events took place on Feb. 19, 2022 not Feb. 21st. (And the Rodney King incident occurred in 1991, not 1992.)
