Please keep it up, Donna. We really need you and all the guys now more than ever. The whole world is going nuttier by the day. Scare and control is getting worse, rather than better. The guys have shown they can keep it together and keep doing what has to be done. We all need to follow their example.

I’m delighted that you plucked this theme out of the cab dialogue for it describes the alternative to top down bureaucratic control. The organic solutions found and agreed upon by those who are involved at the root , in the trucker’s case, the people with their hands on the wheel, has it’s parallel in law. It’s called “common law” the method that guided our ancestors toward ever increasing personal responsibility and the freedoms that resulted. The way we pulled power from the king was by taking ever more responsibility for ourselves.

The total disrespect modern government is showing for common law by substituting top down arbitrary mandate is the reason desperate truckers drove to Ottawa and truly, why so many of us are duly grateful that they did.

A description of gold rush day in Hernando de Soto's book, The Mystery of Capital, writes about it.

To me, Garret, is responsibility. A few months ago I watched the rapper Zuby in an interview. I was most impressed when he stated that a big problem today is that everybody wants freedom, but nobody wants to take responsibility. I hope he reached as wide an audience with that interview as he does with his singing.

Wow, you are so accurately depicting what went on. So much so, that your writings bring me right back to those days. Thank you for that. Keep up the great work!!!

Thank you Donna! As someone else wrote in the comments, we need your work more than ever. We need to be reminded that organizing on the ground is effective and we need to practice it in all parts of our lives in order not to be crushed. We always need to support each other and reject the cynical manipulations put out there to distract us (for example. using trans people as a sacrifice to the battle of right/left is cruel and heartless strategy). Eyes open: pretty much everything you hear on the 'news' has been created to divide and conquer.
