This comment is off topic gang but I had a thought yesterday - Canadian singer Black Joe wrote and song - a politically motivated song titled “I Will Not Comply” - fact of country music writers and singers is they don’t like to do politics as it usually is a career destroyer (Dixie Chicks). But I can’t help thinking about a song that one of my favourite singers Alan Jackson, could do with some of the info written by you Donna in these podcasts (especially yesterday’s), - Beside his voice and God given abilities- I sincerely believe he is s man of integrity and just might be able to be convinced to put the remainder of his career at risk with the future of global Freedom and Democracy in the balance - I just played one that I’d like everyone else to give a listen to when you get a chance - “Where Were You When”. if he could be convinced that this old man joined the Convoy to Ottawa and froze on the streets for those three weeks not at all for myself but for my and everyone else’s Grandchildren’s future - it’s just possible that he could be convinced to produce a musical message from our Lord to wake up the blind, the deaf and the daft that don’t realize everyone’s future is being threatened unless we all fight these tyrants together. Do me a favour gang - give this a thought and let me know what you think (when you get a chance) - thanks all and have a great weekend.
... though country music is often written by those who want their truck back, their dog back, their girl back - yes, perhaps a song for their freedoms back...I like the year old song link above from Kid Rock - "We the People".
I'll check out your link. Folk music, ballads, punk, the voices will rise up. I am looking forward to hearing from the young rebels. Joni Mitchel and her ilk, terrified of death and rejection at their age? Embarrassing. They are in the dustbin.
