Guy Meisner drove his vintage black Mack to Ottawa from Nova Scotia as part of the Freedom Convoy. Originally charged with five criminal offences, three have gone away, but two are still being pursued nearly two years later - Mischief and Obstructing Police.
Guy’s trial is scheduled to recommence during the first week of the New Year - on Thursday, January 4th and Friday January 5th. In September, the courtroom had no spectators other than Ms Cannabis Court, a live-tweeting paralegal I’d alerted about the case. It would be marvelous if folks who live in or near Ottawa were able to attend. It’s important that the people employed in our justice system know Canadians care what happens to these men.
Guy and Mike, his friend, were amongst the earliest truckers to be arrested were the first two truckers to be arrested when the police crackdown began. After riot police smashed the window of Mike’s truck and hauled him out, Guy exited from the passenger door of that same truck voluntarily and fully cooperated with police during and after his arrest.
CORRECTION: The first group of truckers to be arrested were parked on Nicholas Street. Arrests began around 7:30 am on Friday, 18 Feb. 2022. Mike and Guy were arrested a few hours later. Click here for more info (see bottom of this post).

I was just trying to remember about Ms Cannabis Court yesterday listening to Laurence Greenspon when Thank You Truckers resumed. I hope she will still be available to help in this case. I cannot remember how, but I sent her some $$ to show my appreciation when you told us how she was helping the lawyer in this case. Maybe when the case resumes, you could let us know how to offer her a little support - and if you find out the lawyer is working pro bono, I would like to know that as well.
