Donna, this is a bit off topic but have you ever been able to get a real estimate of how many vehicles were in the convoy(s) at its peak? I feel that by now we should at least have an accurate enough range. But it seems nobody ever wants to answer that question.
Great question. I'm not sure it will ever get answered to anyone's satisfaction. One difficulty is that there really were numerous Convoy arms. An Ottawa police officer testified last September that while they'd been expecting 5 Convoys to show up, 13 did.
My guess is that LOADS of people who headed for Ottawa that first weekend (Jan 29-30) failed to get anywhere near Parliament Hill. Especially those from Quebec. In Gatineau, police blocked the bridges & forced people to cross over into Ottawa on foot. But I've also heard credible claims that Quebec police sent some arms of the Convoy down blind alleys well before Ottawa, or suddenly closed highway exits in a manner that profoundly impeded their progress.
