Trudeau's bizarre behavior begs us to wonder "WHY". In my attempts to answer that question I have found several answers but find only one of them plausible. He and his government wanted the shutdowns and were intent on perpetuating them for some reason. Because the data on the vaccine, mask, spacing efficacy was beginning to come out then, they could see their power bubble ending soon and were completely irrational (NOT sunny) in their response. Now we need to discover their reason for wanting the shutdowns.
They m.o. for the last few years has been break it, then deny it, then tell us we're crazy for seeing it. I think you're right that much of the last year or so was trying to normalize tyranny.
I know the Aesop fable from childhood but had never connected it before to Trudeau's "sunny ways" remark, which I thought meant that, as prime minister, he would smile a lot. I always learn so much from the "Thank You, Truckers!" posts.
I actually forgot he did this on Valentines day. We were so excited and twisted up with every bully move, the last thing on our mind was Valentines. However, every slight and punch we endured was proof we were winning and that kept us going

Thank you, John!
