Jordan Peterson on the Convoy

Truckers 'handled that demonstration impeccably. They timed it brilliantly...They did nothing but good.'

Last week, US commentator Tucker Carlson delivered a speech in Calgary. As part of the program, he and Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson were invited to briefly comment on a number of topics. The latter was asked about the Freedom Convoy. The full text of his remarks are below (the above video begins at that point).

Dr Peterson emphasized the working class nature of the Freedom Convoy. The laptop class tends to believe its own perspective is the only one that matters. But ordinary people, the kind who keep our physical world humming, deserve to be heard. There’d be no food, no medicine, no lights, and no heat without such people. Ignoring their perspective is disrespectful as well as short-sighted.

Some of the truckers I’ve interviewed feel a sense of failure. They say they promised numerous members of the public they’d remain in Ottawa until things changed. Then the police turned into violent goons. But there’s no question the Convoy altered the trajectory of events. Pandemic measures that were getting worse, rather than better, were stopped in their tracks. The truckers turned the ship around, and they did so with class.

In the words of Dr Peterson, the truckers “handled that demonstration impeccably. They timed it brilliantly. They left at the right time. They did nothing but good.”

So you know that that the trucker convoy was part and also part of the leadership of a much broader movement of working class people all across the western world. You're seeing that more, particularly in Europe now, there were some 200,000 German farmers and assorted protesters out over the last couple of weeks. You saw very little coverage of that. The same thing is happening in Spain, it's happening in France, it's happening in Scotland. And part of the reason that it is happening is because working class people in their implicit wisdom have decided that they're not the problem that faces the planet, but the solution.

And the truckers knew that and they served in that function, as even Trudeau admitted not so long prior to his unforgivable, traitorous, and now deemed criminal activities - which should be treated as such.

I thought from the beginning, you know, more power to the truckers. I think they handled that demonstration impeccably. They timed it brilliantly. They left at the right time. They did nothing but good.

And they were treated like Russian collaborators and MAGA scum and sometimes both at the same time. Because that's exactly how demented Canada is. So more power to them. And thank God for the wisdom of the federal court.
