How a Pediatrician's Career Imploded
Eric Payne was recruited back to Canada, then the world went insane.
So many lives were turned upside down over the last three years. So much turmoil, conflict, injury, and ruin was inflicted by those who wielded some amount of power. Compassion. Common sense. Basic decency. All disappeared from public life. Do what you’re told, peasant. How dare you think for yourself!
Which is why, when the truckers said Enough is enough and headed for Ottawa in their big rigs, many Canadians wept as well as applauded.
Pediatrician Eric Payne’s story is just one of dozens being publicized and recorded via the National Citizen’s Inquiry. It’s startling because it demonstrates that no matter how eminent you were, no matter how qualified and credentialed, none of society’s checks and balances provided protection. Disagree with the dominant narrative and you were crushed like a bug. Obliterated.
Dr Payne provided his testimony to the Inquiry in two parts. First, virtually on April 1st (beginning at 3:36:17 on this video). Next, in person on April 28th (beginning at 4:38:10 on this video).
Here’s a quick, 36-second clip from the first occasion:
On screen we see an Inquiry official interrupt Dr Payne:
So if I can just stop you there, to summarize where we’re at. You were effectively recruited by [Alberta Health Services personnel] because of your expertise.
Recruited away from a job you loved at the Mayo Clinic and then were promptly let go because, for a period of six to eight weeks, you were not in compliance with the vaccine mandate?
Is that it?
Dr Payne answers: “That is correct.”
He moved his young family - including two children who were born in the US - back to Canada after months of negotiation with the Alberta Children’s Hospital. They recruited him. By progressively sweetening the deal, they enticed him - eventually offering him an arrangement that amounted to his dream job. This included funding for his research, and time in his normal work week to conduct that research. In his words:
I was given three years start-up funding - until it was removed. And so it really was a culmination of, really, everything I’d worked for, to get that job.
So I was very excited to be back here with my family. We moved back here February 2020.
Only one face-to-face meeting with his new colleagues occurred, he says, before the pandemic struck. Afterward, everything took place over Zoom despite the fact that “the children’s hospital, during that first year, was empty. It really was not busy.”
The summation in the video above is not quite correct. Dr Payne wasn’t “promptly let go.” In fact, more than a year went by. It was only after certain people started talking about forcing other people to take COVID vaccines that the career of this eminent physician imploded.

Canadian health bureaucrats are insane
This story is similar to Dr. William Makis, esteemed cancer specialist in Alberta whose highly successful cancer program was abruptly shut down by Alberta government - leaving hundreds of cancer patients he was successfully treating without medical care. Makis has many videos on Rumble.
