Here’s my last-in-a-series post about Anita Krishna, who lost her job at Global News for the crime of being an independent pandemic thinker. The above video records a speech she delivered in early February 2022, while the trucker protest was still in Ottawa. It’s 15 minutes long and absolutely great.
Fair warning: we see the firecracker side of Anita here, including some profanity.
Addressing a freedom rally in Vancouver while standing in back of a pickup truck, she begins by pointing out that the event in which they are participating
is not gonna happen tonight on the six o’clock news. Is it? You will not see yourself. You will not see how patriotic and beautiful…And do you know how I know that? Because I directed the news for 20 [bleeping] years over there.
At 2:50 minutes, she says the mainstream media “has spread so much misinformation” during the pandemic “that my heart is broken.” At the 7-minute mark, she calls out the way journalists covered the Freedom Convoy protest:
I would like to cite a specific example. The other day, I saw CTV Ottawa. I saw a woman interview a trucker. This trucker, his name is Jeff Gaudry. He drove from Vernon, across the country, to get to Ottawa. And CTV did an interview with him.
This woman that did the interview, her name was Annette Goerner. It was the most appalling, insulting interview I’ve ever seen in my life…She grilled him, and nailed him. And she’s like, “What are you doing here? Why are you here? Oh, we heard you.”
I would like to apologize to Jeff Gaudry - as someone who has been a broadcaster for my whole life - for that appalling interview.
CTV, you owe Jeff an apology, too.
You can find Anita online at AnitaKrishna.com. She’s also on Twitter here, on Rumble here, on YouTube here and Facebook here.
Like the Biggest Rock Concert, Down the Main Highway of Canada: Anita interviews an Alberta podcaster who’s traveling across the country with the Freedom Convoy.
Anita Krishna, Independent Thinker: 'I don't know how many times I was told to stop talking.' In a newsroom.
I Got Fired for Speaking Up: Anita Krishna was terminated 'right around Christmas time.'
So happy to see this video of Anita again, which I see has only been shared under 4,000 times - wish it was 4M.. I am going yo share it today with someone..
