Why My Family Moved Here
Scottish immigrant travels to Ottawa two weekends in a row to support the Convoy.
The gent in this brief video immigrated to Canada from Scotland as a child 32 years before the Freedom Convoy happened. He tells independent filmmaker Ben Amaral it was “very hard to be excited” about being Canadian during the pandemic.
He was in Ottawa for the first weekend of the protest, he reports, and has now returned for weekend number two. “I don’t know what you’re hearing on the news media,” he says, “but everything is the complete opposite”:
You walk up and down the streets, you’ve got people in Canada shirts picking up garbage, handing homeless people food - being a community. That’s what Canada is. That’s why my family moved here.
…Everybody’s got to pull together and get this country back. We’re not into Globalism. We’re not into Communism. Let’s do it!
