Dr. Ahmad Malik is a Scottish-born orthopedic surgeon. He specializes in foot and ankle surgery, and currently runs a clinic in London, UK. During his 25-year career, he has established training programs for the next generation of surgeons, been part of the medical team for the 2012 London Olympics, and assisted earthquake victims.
His father owned a shoe store, and Ahmad remembers spending weekends in the back of the store as a child with his brother and sister. “Some of my happiest memories,” he says, “are of my dad cooking up a fish curry in the back over a single gas burner.”

He told our truckers they gave him hope “when I sorely needed it.” He told them their actions were a source of strength to him, a medical professional an ocean away.
