Canadians are amazing. The Freedom Convoy was amazing.
I spent much of July on the road, traveling as far as New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Some of the folks I interviewed drove big trucks to Ottawa and stood their ground for three weeks. Others contributed significant skills or significant funds.
I also conducted interviews in Quebec and Eastern Ontario. There’s a broad swath of people who live on either side of the Ontario/Quebec border. They’re part of the productive donut that envelops the nation’s capital, and were just next door as this lengthy protest unfolded.
Some organized tractor convoys into Ottawa to demonstrate their support. Others turned their farms into trucker-friendly hubs. Still others spent weeks serving massive amounts of hot food and supplying massive amounts of fuel.
The generosity, the community spirit, the determination and ingenuity demonstrated by these Canadians is beyond inspiring. This is our history. These are our stories. I’m looking forward telling you all about them.
Tomorrow I’ll introduce you to a chap who drove a big rig to Ottawa from Nova Scotia. Below is a glimpse of two other trucks and three other guys from Nova Scotia who were also in Ottawa :-)
Thrilled to have you back in my Inbox! Keeping these stories alive (and correcting the record!) is so necessary and provides a daily uplift - thank you 🙏🏼
Welcome back Thank You Truckers! Looking forward to hearing more Donna!
