People expressed their support for the truckers in a variety of ways. Notes, letters, even collages. This one, given to a trucker while his rig was parked in Ottawa, was assembled by Lise - who resides in Lac-St-Jean, a resort area of Quebec. (It takes 6.5 hours to drive to Parliament Hill from that part of the country, assuming good weather conditions.)
In this collage, people hold hands and shake hands. For some, the pandemic-related curtailing of physical connection has been an agony. For an extended period of time, they lost something that, for them, makes life bearable.
Lise talks about courage, love, unity, and gratitude. She employs hearts, and mentions the word ‘heart’ in both French and English.
She tells the truckers they’re making history, and that she will remember the role they have played.
