Restoring Hope to Ignored Canadians
The trucker convoy pierced an extended media blackout.
Some of us have experienced an ugly side of humanity recently. Folks we thought we knew. Folks we thought were decent human beings. Suddenly these people were belittling, demonizing, excluding, penalizing, and firing us. For making independent decisions about our own bodies.
Those wounds go deep. Many relationships will never recover. Families have been strained, fractured, shattered. People are in pain.
On Facebook, the Freedom Convoy 2022 group recently invited members to vote ‘True’ or ‘False’ to the statement: The Freedom Convoy gave citizens more hope.
98% voted ‘True.’ How did this all happen?
For starters, the mainstream media spent over a year disappearing a large segment of public opinion. Week after week, pro-freedom protesters gathered peacefully in cities across Canada. But their message of Enough is enough! wasn’t publicized. Instead, it was erased. Ignored. There was a deliberate and persistent news blackout.
The truckers broke that spell. People heard about the convoy, and it went big. In the midst of a long winter, those who’d been erased and ignored suddenly felt fresh hope.
The spirit of the ‘true North strong and free’ celebrated in our national anthem filled our hearts.
