During the Ottawa protest, a religious service was held each day at 11 am. Folks gathered at the Eternal Flame on Parliament Hill to sing hymns and recite scripture.
A smartphone app could be downloaded, with the words to the hymns. I recorded the above video on Thursday, Feb. 10th. The hymn is titled All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name, and has been sung since the late 1700s.
Many of the truckers were people of faith. Some were thousands of miles away from home, and were missing important family events - such as the birthdays of their children.
These low key, dignified gatherings were a source of strength and comfort. Here’s a photo from that same occasion:
