Yesterday I explained how apples donated to the Freedom Convoy were later turned into 600 pies by an amazing team of volunteers. These are professional grade. Apple pie like you may not have tasted before. Not too sweet, these apples are flavourful and toothsome. The pies are substantial, weighing between two and three pounds a piece. Cooking directions are on the box.
Part cultural artifact and part folk art, they’ll soon pass into history. Approximately 60 of these pies remain unsold. Just when it seemed they’d all gone, another freezer full was discovered.
Because they’re frozen, they can’t be shipped. But if you live in Southern Ontario, are able to drive, and would like to purchase one, send me an email at ThankYouTruckersBOOK@ProtonMail.com. I’ll point you in the right direction.
$15 each (2 for $25)
pastry or crumble top
These pies don’t all look alike. The photos here are examples only.
Our first pie leaked gooey apple goodness into the oven, which smoked the next time we turned the oven on. After that, we put a sheet of tinfoil under each pie to catch the overflow.
highly recommended: cold milk
Try a slice of sharp cheddar with your next slice of apple pie.
