Part 1: The Barber Who Went to Ottawa
Sam, the Nova Scotia mechanic I’ve written about previously, got a haircut from Isaac in Ottawa. In a Facebook video, Sam told viewers: “Anybody alive knows how good you feel when you look good. You feel so much more powerful.”
Nova Scotia trucker Jeff also got tidied up (read part of his story here and here).
Carrying supplies such as scissors, clippers, and a spray bottle in his knapsack, Isaac worked his magic there on the sidewalk. In a February 7th social media post, he said he’d cut the hair of six truckers that day.
“One man,” he said, “cried because he stated that it was his first proper cut in 2 years. ‘I feel human’ said the trucker.’”
Barbers and hairstylists were profoundly harmed by government-imposed lockdowns. In some cases, their volume of business has not yet rebounded to pre-pandemic levels.
This news article says Toronto hair salons reopened on July 2nd, 2021 - after being ordered closed November 20th, 2020. That’s 7.5 months without income, while the bills continued to pile up.
We still fail to appreciate that a widespread decision not to comply would have nullified these draconian measures. Now, at 80, I'm finally aware of how fragile the authoritarian hold over the public really is. Only silence and fear of reprisal needs to be overcome.
re "That’s 7.5 months without income, while the bills continued to pile up." - the commies want us dead or at least in total submission then & now.
