Do Not Lose This Beautiful, Strong, Free Country
'I came here with a prayer and I'm gonna go with a prayer.'
English isn’t the first language of this unidentified Freedom Convoy trucker with his electric smile. He may well be an immigrant to Canada, as were many of his colleagues.
Interviewed in downtown Ottawa in this 1-minute video, he says he has never participated in a protest before and doesn’t anticipate doing so ever again:
I came here with a prayer and I'm gonna go with a prayer. I'm a very strong believing man. I don't participate in any protest at all, and I'm not gonna go ever afterwards, because it's not the God's way.
But the truckers who came from West, from East, I could not leave them alone. It was my duty to be here.
“I found so much love,” in Ottawa, he says. “I have found so much unity.” He mentions being overcome with emotion “on many occasions during the day.”
He clearly feels a bit uncomfortable being interviewed. Near the end he shrugs:
So what can I say, guys? Hope for the best.
Do not lose this beautiful, strong, free country.
