The above photograph was posted to Twitter recently. It’s unclear when it was taken, but the message is timeless.
When truckers drive past this day care, see youngsters in the playground, and blow their horns, they give the kids a thrill. The teachers encourage these little ones to think about the shape of the truck, what’s inside, where it’s headed, and how many wheels it has.
Understanding the world around us. Doing the little things. Delighting the children.
If any of the mainstream media would have taken time to ask the truckers why they were there, they would have heard the same line repeated many times: "For the kids". Love this story. We were there for the kids, with the kids, letting kids be kids.
Kids know ... there is a great thrill in find one's own power. There is a magical sense when pushing a button rings a bell , turns on a light, turns on a motor, a vacuum maybe, lights up a screen.
The kid know. Make the pulling motion in the air and the trucker can't resist, pull the air horn, thrill the kids. The kids know. They cause the honk.
Adult? Hate truck horns? Maybe you've buried the inner child. Ya, lost your sense of exploration ... and fun, maybe? Maybe freedom?
