Custom Knit Gratitude

Protesters left Ottawa and returned home. But their admiration for Freedom Convoy truckers continued.

One of the truckers I met in Ottawa is employed part time by the company I mentioned yesterday. He’s a lovely man, in his early 70s, who came to Canada as an infant in the arms of his immigrant parents.

Some weeks after protesters had departed the nation’s capital and returned home, a package addressed to this trucker was delivered to where he works. An Alberta woman he’d encountered there had sent him a gift.

When I visited his home to conduct interviews, this gift had a place of honour in his living room.
