A Blank Cheque to Oppress, Intimidate & Tyrannize
Out-of-control regulatory bodies, captured courts.
We’ve learned something horrifying yet important over the past few years. Just below the surface of nearly every one of our institutions - and nearly every one of our officials - is sheer totalitarianism.
Obey. Comply. Fall into line. How dare you question! How dare you disagree! How dare you initiate a conversation about whether government policy make sense!
During a speech he delivered a week ago, lawyer Michael Alexander said physicians are being persecuted for insufficient obedience to the official COVID narrative. Their license to practice medicine is on the line, regulatory bodies appear to be out-of-control, and our courts are apparently captured.
He explained this situation in some depth and detail during his 47 minutes of testimony to the National Citizen’s Inquiry earlier this year. You can watch that stand alone video here. At 16:35 on the video he declares:
“What is going on in the courts is deeply troubling.”
At 20:10, he explains that - in a case in which he’s involved - an Ontario divisional court blatantly ignored both a pivotal Supreme Court of Canada decision and an Ontario Court of Appeal decision in order to rule in the opposite direction: “I found that shocking,” he says.
These developments matter because the courts now appear unwilling to serve as meaningful avenues of appeal when regulatory bodies such as the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons behave unjustly. At 21:57, Mr Alexander says:
You’re essentially letting the Colleges off the leash, you know…you’re essentially saying ‘You can do whatever you want.’ It’s essentially a blank cheque to oppress, intimidate and tyrannize members of the health professions.
And at 30:50 he says:
I’ve been reading [legal] cases since 1980. For 43 years. I entered law school in 1980. And the court came up with a new principal I’d never heard of before.
Which is that government should always be given the benefit of the doubt.
To paraphrase Ben Franklin ... A People can build a free nation but they won't keep a free nation if the believe it is possible the trade freedom for safety and in the end they will lose both.
OMG! The government should be given benefit of the doubt??? Thank goodness you are illuminating this Donna.. this week I sent one of your posts to a colleague- a medical doctor who HATES CPSO, thinking I might catch his attention- NO RESPONSE!
