Trucker Donations Exceed 'Historic' Trudeau Fundraising

Freedom Convoy raised more money, six times faster, from twice as many people.

Financial support for the Freedom Convoy was huge. How huge? Let’s crunch the numbers. The Liberal Party of Canada, which has existed for 150 years, raised a historic amount of money during the third quarter of last year - July, August, September. (A snap election was held on Sept. 20, 2021.)

Those historic dollars totaled $7.6 million. Donated by 57 thousand Canadians.

The trucker GoFundMe campaign came into being on Jan. 14, 2022. A mere 15 days later $7.7 million had been donated by 97 thousand Canadians.

The truckers raised their money six times faster than did the Liberal Party, which is currently led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. From considerably more people.

19 days after it was launched, the trucker GoFundMe campaign was frozen (on February 2nd). By then, the Freedom Convoy had overtaken the Liberals by 2.5 million - for a total of $10.1 million.

During those 19 days, 124 thousand donors gave money to the truckers - twice the number who made donations to Trudeau’s Liberals.

The Liberal Party of Canada says its historic fundraising during the third quarter of 2021 demonstrates “the party’s strong grassroots support.”

Never forget: the truckers smoked those numbers.
